"It's the slow leaks, not the blowouts; it's the grains of sand,
not the boulders that cut away at the heart of the family until
it crumbles and its members slowly walk away." For years Wallace
and Ernestine Swilley have shared what God has been giving them
to prevent the erosion of families and build better marriage and
single relationships. With this background, and the fact that
they have been married over 50 years the Swilleys believe that
God has placed them in a unique position to present a message of
hope to those desiring better relationships and to those who are
hurting or in a broken relationship. This includes single
parents, formerly married individuals, and the blended family.
The
Swilleys minister with a passion in local churches, state
retreats, and business conventions. In 1965 (after several years
of pastoral ministry and 12 years of youth and Christian
education work in Georgia
and Ohio),
Wallace and Ernestine moved into a different phase of their life
commitment—marriage and family relationships. Along with their
two sons Duane and Mark they recorded eight albums (CDs). For
several years Duane and Mark served as co-host for their own
television show that originated from the CBS affiliate WMAZ in
Macon, Georgia
and included other outlets that covered the South East. The
theme of their show was "A Family Reaching Families."
Wallace
Swilley says; "We believe care for the family is not
optional--it is a necessity.” Our greatest joy is to see
frustration and tension begin to fade as couples and families
reach out to each other with love and forgiveness."
Their
ministry has taken them across this country and many nations
around the world, sharing their message of HOPE for people every
where.
The
Atlanta Journal calls them one of
America's foremost marriage and
family motivators. They believe there is room for improvement in
every relationship. Each secession is concluded with a call for
commitment. They are seeing uncommon powerful results in every
session.
It
is a daily prayer of the Swilleys for God to sustain and give
fresh anointing to pastors in the battle for the survival of the
families in their care. Services offered by "New Life for the
Family," include:
1. Family Renewal Day. During
these Sunday sessions they suggest strategies for successful
family living in the 21st century, based on Biblical principles.
Most pastors schedule a session during the regular Sunday school
hour for adults. This provides sessions on Sunday when most
people are available. As a part of Family Renewal Day, they are
available on Saturday evening for a time of teaching and
fellowship with couples, followed by a time of questions and
answers. This is their most popular schedule.
2. Seminars. They customize seminars to meet the needs of
the people. This can be done in the church, local hotel, or a
retreat setting. Sessions can be scheduled for Saturday, 9 am -
4 p.m., followed up with a Relationship Renewal Day on Sunday
for churches.
The3. Business conventions. The Swilleys have worked with Zig
Ziglar and Charles Stanley in business conventions. They have
found that when relationships are right production is much
higher.
